According to the analysis of the common causes of stamping accidents, accidents in stamping work are mainly caused by the following reasons:

1. Risks arising from the structure of the punch itself

At present, the vast majority of presses are still using a rigid clutch. Once the clutch connection is running, a stamping cycle must be completed before the slider stops running. If the stamping worker's hand cannot be taken out of the die in time during the downstroke, the accident of stamping will occur.

2. There is a fault in the stamping process

Punch in operation, will produce impact and vibration, a long time will make the parts of the punch deformation, wear and tear or even rupture, resulting in punch out of control and the phenomenon of continuous punching, this is a very dangerous situation.

3. Switch failure of punch press

The switch of the punch machine is out of order during the stamping process due to the failure caused by human or the lack of maintenance for a long time.

4. Unreasonable design of stamping die

Stamping die is the basis of producing stamping parts, the unreasonable design of stamping die will greatly increase the possibility of stamping accidents. Normal stamping die will also appear with the increase of the use time wear, deformation or damage, resulting in the occurrence of accidents.

2. Technical measures for safety of stamping operations

1. Stamping safety tools must be used

In the stamping process, the safety tool is used to put the blank into the die and take out the finished product and waste, so as to realize the operation outside the die and avoid the hand directly into the die to ensure the safety of the workers.

2. Protection of stamping die working area

(1) install protective devices around the stamping die.

(2) the reasonable design of the die can reduce the dangerous area of the stamping die.

(3) design automatic or mechanical feeding.

3. Safety protection of punch press

(1) mechanical protection

Driver type. This is a protective device that is linked to the press slider and pushes the worker's hand away from the die by the swing of the baffle.

Swing bar hand guard. It is a device that USES the principle of lever to push the hand away.

Handle safety device. It is a device that USES pulley, lever and rope to link the worker's hand movement with the sliding block movement.

(2) double-switch control system

The slider is activated only when the stamping man presses both buttons with both hands. This completely eliminates the possibility that the worker will put his hand into the mold and the punch will start.

(3) safety grating

The installation of a safe grating punch is equivalent to the formation of a protection zone for the entire dangerous area. When the worker enters the safe grating protection zone, the punch cannot be started.
